Mineworkers' Pension Scheme

Early day motion 1117, tabled 4 November 2026 by Robert Jenrick (Reform UK). Signed by 8 members.

That this House calls for the Government to release the money held from the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme Guarantor's Fund to scheme members within a matter of days, certainly no later than Christmas; recognises the difference that the £1.2bn held could make to scheme members now; further recognises that the miners and their families were promised this in 1994 by the Government of the day; and also recognises the important work done by coal miners in the UK.
