Turnbull High School work with Refuweegee

Early day motion 869, tabled 12 October 2026 by Susan Murray (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 4 members.

That this House recognises the work that the Turnbull High School S2 pupils have done to the UNCRC right to work campaign in collaboration with Refuweegee by raising awareness for refugees who are not permitted to work; further recognises the pupils’ initial plan to write letters to welcome the refugees before organising donations for welcome packages with books, toiletries, warm clothing, food and an item of Scottish significance; congratulates the pupils for the amount of material donations collected including £500 in monetary donations; further congratulates the pupils for going above and beyond to make the refugees feel welcome and supported; and also recognises the role that the staff at Turnbull High School in the Mid Dunbartonshire constituency have played in supporting the pupils and fostering an environment that promotes generosity, kindness and compassion.
