Workers Memorial Day

Early day motion 3045, tabled 25 March 2026 by David Baines (Labour). Signed by 26 members.

That this House commemorates Workers Memorial Day and pays tribute to all workers who have lost their lives, suffered injury or experienced illness as a result of their work; calls on employers, employees, and trade unions across the UK to mark this occasion by renewing their commitment to workplace safety; welcomes the service of remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony being held at the Workers Memorial Statue in Vera Page Park, St Helens; and believes that events of this kind play a vital role in raising awareness among both employers and employees of the need for robust health and safety protections in the workplace.
