Mitchell, lead designer of the Spitfire, on the 130th anniversary of his birth; notes his contribution to victory in the Battle of Britain through his work on the Spitfire; and further notes his connection to North Staffordshire and celebrates his collaboration with Rolls Royce, who built the Merlin engine, which was vital to the defeat of the Nazis.
