ACCESS TO FAMILY HISTORY BREAST CANCER SERVICES FOR WOMEN UNDER 40 YEARS OF AGE

Early day motion 2605, tabled 15 July 2019 by Andrew Griffiths (Conservative). Signed by 21 members.

That this House recognises that every person with a family history of breast cancer under the age of 40 should have access to family history services regardless of where they live; notes that there is currently a lack of national oversight of screening for women with a family history of breast cancer; recognises that NHS England needs to provide clarity on the current governance arrangements for the provision of services for all women with a family history of breast cancer, including what obligations CCGs have for funding family history clinics; and urges the Government to introduce legislation for a statutory duty on the Secretary of State to ensure the implementation of current NICE family history guidelines.
