SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY CINEMAS
Early day motion 2451, tabled 5 June 2019 by Douglas Chapman (Scottish National Party). Signed by 26 members.
That this House supports the introduction of community cinemas to provide much needed access to the medium of film for communities that do not have their own fully commercial cinema or to provide an alternative to existing commercial cinemas; and encourages the Government to consider ways of providing support which would allow these creative community initiatives, such as at Dunfermline Cinema Project, to be sustainable in the longer term and help provide citizens who love movies to access a comfortable, low cost and high quality cinema experience in their own communities.
