20 YEARS OF NORTH KELVIN SPORTS DEVELOPMENT

That this House recognises that 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of North Kelvin Sports based in the north of Glasgow; notes that the club was established in May 1999 with the ambition of offering sporting opportunities alongside educational workshops for both young people and adults; understands that the team uses sport as a fun incentive to encourage personal and social development and to address relevant issues affecting individuals and the community in an informal and supportive manner; welcomes the ambition of this grassroots organisation to promote inclusiveness, opportunity and access for all; applauds the organisation on their development pathway providing support and training to individuals of all ages from childhood through their senior team; commends the club for the creation of projects such as Bridges and Barriers, an anti-sectarian project which works to identify behavioural traits that result in sectarianism whilst also addressing the linguistic, historical and cultural contexts; and wishes North Kelvin Sports every success for the next 20 years and beyond.
