TELSCOMBE CLIFFS AND PEACEHAVEN HEIGHTS ACADEMISATION

Early day motion 2337, tabled 29 April 2019 by Lloyd Russell-Moyle (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 6 members.

That this House notes with concern the proposed academisation of the Telscombe Cliffs and Peacehaven Heights primary schools in the Brighton, Kemptown constituency; further notes the efforts of the local community to prevent academisation; applauds the efforts and dedication of the GMB and NEU trades unions in supporting the local community; calls upon the local council to resist calls to academise the primary schools and to intervene to prevent this from happening; and recognises and supports the views of the local community that council-run schools provide greater accountability and have deeper links to the community.

Signatures by party: Labour 2, Labour/Co-operative 2, DUP 1, Green 1.
