UTILITY COMPANIES CHARGING FOR PAPER BILLS
Early day motion 2129, tabled 4 March 2019 by Robert Halfon (Conservative). Signed by 29 members.
That this House acknowledges the outrageous fee that some utility companies charge their customers who opt to receive paper versions of their bills; recognises that 4.8 million people did not use the internet in 2018; notes that this charge unfairly affects hardworking families and elderly people who do not have access to either a computer or the internet; further notes the impact of this charge on the cost of living; and urges the Government to prevent companies from imposing disproportionate charges for issuing paper bills.
