CONFIDENCE IN SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WALES

Early day motion 1460, tabled 26 June 2018 by Jonathan Edwards (Plaid Cymru). Signed by 14 members.

That this House has no confidence in the Secretary of State for Wales; notes his inability to deliver two consecutive major infrastructure projects for Wales, despite manifesto promises, namely the cancellation of rail electrification on the South Wales Mainline and now the decision by the Government not to support the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon; further notes that the decision to reject the Tidal Lagoon came on the same day as the House approved the Government's plans for a £14 billion new runway at Heathrow; and believes that the Secretary of State has consistently not acted to advance or protect the Welsh economy, making his position untenable.

Signatures by party: Labour 6, Plaid Cymru 4, Labour/Co-operative 3, Green 1.
