Early day motion 177, tabled 12 July 2017 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 22 members.
That this House congratulates the family of the late Peter Baldwin on their decision continually to raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes through the campaign Know Type 1 which aims to make the 4Ts test mandatory for all GP appointments; notes that the Baldwin family have been joined in their campaign in Peter's memory by Diabetes UK; further notes the UK has the world's fifth highest diagnosis in children aged up to 14-years, with 24.5 per 100,000 children being diagnosed with the condition every year, double that of France at 12.2 per 100,000; and calls on the Government to boost Type 1 diabetes in children awareness throughout the UK and introduce legislation and regulations which would make the 4Ts test mandatory and standard in GP appointments for all those under 18-years.
