OPENREACH

Early day motion 753, tabled 30 November 2016 by Kelvin Hopkins (Labour). Signed by 5 members.

That this House notes the decision of Ofcom to separate Openreach from BT; considers that high quality broadband connection is becoming an essential service of modern everyday life; believes that such an essential service should be in public ownership, accountable to government and Parliament; and therefore calls on the Government to bring forward amendments to the Digital Economy Bill to enable such a transfer of ownership to take place.

Signatures by party: Scottish National Party 3, Labour 2.
