PRINCE BUSTER

Early day motion 495, tabled 10 October 2016 by Lord Cryer (Labour). Signed by 8 members.

That this House notes with sadness the death of the legendary Jamaican singer, songwriter, producer, boxer and musical pioneer Prince Buster on 8 September 2016; further notes that he broke many taboos, including becoming the first Jamaican artist to make a significant impact in British music, and paved the way for others to follow; recognises that his considerable legacy will endure for many decades to come; and notes that he will always be remembered as the first King of Jamaican music.

Signatures by party: Labour 3, Scottish National Party 3, Independent 1, Plaid Cymru 1.
