PLANNED STRIKE ACTION BY DVSA STAFF

Early day motion 834, tabled 8 December 2015 by Jim Cunningham (Labour). Signed by 12 members.

That this House notes with concern the planned strike action by Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) staff over proposed changes to staff working conditions; further notes the widespread support for this action amongst balloted staff with 91 per cent voting in favour, from a turnout of 65 per cent; calls on the Government to intervene in negotiations so that a deal may be reached between the DVSA and its staff so that strike action may be averted; and urges the use of ACAS to facilitate the process as necessary.
