BT PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE

Early day motion 625, tabled 29 October 2015 by Lord Mann (Labour). Signed by 9 members.

That this House condemns the additional payment processing fee of £18 per transaction charged by BT to customers who are unable to pay their bill by direct debit; notes that this indirectly impacts on the lowest paid in society who are unable to set up a direct debit and therefore incur this added cost; further notes the dominant market position of BT; and urges them to reconsider the size of the additional payment processing fee.
