FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY EVENTS IN INVERCLYDE

Early day motion 527, tabled 14 October 2015 by Ronnie Cowan (Scottish National Party). Signed by 33 members.

That this House congratulates the Poets @ War project on its receipt of a funding award of £10,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund; understands that the project will use drama and poetry as an educational tool to teach young people about the impact of the First World War on Inverclyde; recognises the role of Greenock's McLean Museum in facilitating First World War centenary events; and believes that the use of performing arts and literature is an effective and imaginative way of ensuring that the sacrifices of the First World War are not forgotten.
