UK CITIZENS AFFECTED BY 2013 LEVY ON CYPRIOT BANK DEPOSITS

Early day motion 571, tabled 26 November 2014 by Mark Williams (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 2 members.

That this House deplores the actions of the Cypriot government in allowing the bank accounts of British citizens to be raided in 2013; notes that a number of law-abiding citizens were unfairly affected; condemns the actions of Laiki Bank in particular, and the unacceptable way in which it has dealt with complaints since the merging with the Bank of Cyprus; and calls on the Government to make its case to the Cypriot government.
