ATOS COMMENTS BY ARCHBISHOP OF GLASGOW

Early day motion 243, tabled 12 June 2013 by Jim Sheridan (Labour). Signed by 27 members.

That this House congratulates the Archbishop of Glasgow, Philip Tartaglia, on his principled position in questioning the appropriateness of having Atos Healthcare as sponsors of the Commonwealth Games due to take place in Glasgow in 2014; acknowledges that the archbishop is correct to point out that it is wrong for Atos to be profiting when sick and disabled people are suffering because of the harshness and bluntness of the work capability assessment; and commends Archbishop Tartaglia on his stance on this matter.

Signatures by party: Labour 23, Independent 1, Plaid Cymru 1, Respect 1, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1.
