HOUSING BENEFIT AND LONDON HOMELESS
Early day motion 718, tabled 13 November 2012 by Jeremy Corbyn (Labour). Signed by 16 members.
That this House is shocked at the reports from Shelter that 57,000 children in London have no permanent accommodation; notes that the housing benefit cap and rising private rents, together with the loss of benefits for young people is creating a housing disaster in London; and calls on the Government to lift the benefit cap, restore housing benefit to young people and bring forward legislation to control private sector rents.
