RE-ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA

Early day motion 698, tabled 7 November 2012 by Paul Flynn (Labour). Signed by 4 members.

That this House welcomes the re-election of President Barack Obama as a moment of joy and satisfaction; looks forward to his continuing to serve the world with idealism, intelligence and an audacity of hope; recognises that his opposition to the Iraq war was an act of great foresight and courage; applauds the fresh nobility and intellectual rigour he has brought to politics; wishes him well in leading the nation that has sacrificed, more than any other country, the lives of its sons and daughters in bringing democracy to the world; and looks forward to early success in ending the bloodshed in Afghanistan and avoiding a war with Iran.

Signatures by party: Labour 3, Liberal Democrat 1.
