RIO AND ANTON FERDINAND AND RACISM IN FOOTBALL

Early day motion 617, tabled 22 October 2012 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 20 members.

That this House recognises the actions of Rio and Anton Ferdinand to raise awareness about racism in football; notes that the chairman of the Kick It Out campaign, Lord Ouseley, has said the charity is relatively powerless in scope to affect the game; further notes that the FA has responsibility for all aspects of the game at every level; calls on the FA to take a stronger stance against racism; and further calls on the Government to give further support to the Kick It Out campaign to completely eradicate racism from football.
