RETIREMENT OF PAUL MCKEEVER

Early day motion 514, tabled 12 September 2012 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 5 members.

That this House congratulates Paul McKeever on an outstanding four years' service as Chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales; notes with sadness his decision to retire from the role; commends the energy and integrity with which he has dedicated himself to championing the rights and working conditions of constables, sergeants and inspectors in the police force; and calls on the Government to work with his successor, Steve Williams, and to take on board the views of ordinary policemen and women as they develop the new landscape of policing.
