SWANSEA MARITIME RESCUE CO-ORDINATION CENTRE (No. 2)
Early day motion 2890, tabled 19 March 2012 by Martin Caton (Labour). Signed by 15 members.
That this House believes that the Government's announcement that it intends to close Swansea Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (Coastguard Station) threatens the safety of people using the waters and coast around the Bristol Channel; notes that this decision was made without undertaking a risk assessment exercise; welcomes the call from Wales First Minister for such a risk assessment to be made; notes his offer for the Welsh Government to co-finance this; and urges the Secretary of State for Transport to respond positively.
