SRI LANKA AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Early day motion 2797, tabled 29 February 2012 by Jim Shannon (DUP). Signed by 14 members.

That this House recognises the attacks on the human rights of Christians and others in Sri Lanka; further recognises the potential that there is in Sri Lanka for tourism which is not being fully realised due to the breaches on human rights and the war; and calls on the Government to ascertain what help can be given to this former British colony and to apply diplomatic pressure to ensure that human rights are recognised.
