DIALOGUE WITH IRAN

Early day motion 2640, tabled 24 January 2012 by Jeremy Corbyn (Labour). Signed by 22 members.

That this House is deeply concerned at the prospect of war with Iran; is appalled at the naval military build-up in the Persian Gulf and the danger that this may spark a conflict with enormous consequences and loss of life; calls for renewed dialogue with Iran, an end to overt and covert military threats and support for a nuclear-free Middle East as called for by the 2010 Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference; and welcomes the Stop the War demonstration outside the US Embassy on 28 January 2012 as an opportunity for ordinary people to express their thirst for peace.

Signatures by party: Labour 13, Liberal Democrat 4, Plaid Cymru 2, Social Democratic and Labour Party 2, Green 1.
