PROTESTS AT ST PAUL'S CATHEDRAL AND THE NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY SERVICE
Early day motion 2313, tabled 26 October 2011 by David Morris (Conservative). Signed by 12 members.
That this House notes that protesters have created a permanent camp outside St Paul's Cathedral; further notes that the Cathedral is closed indefinitely as a resultandthat this means that the National Remembrance Sunday service is threatened; recalls the important role that St Paul's Cathedral played during The Blitz; respects the right of protest, but believes that the right to protest should not mean the cancellation of a service which commemorates those who sacrificed themselves for this very right; and therefore believes that the protesters should vacate the site so that the National Remembrance Sunday Service is not cancelled.
