CARBON MONOXIDE AWARENESS WHEN TRAVELLING ABROAD

Early day motion 2063, tabled 12 July 2011 by Barry Sheerman (Labour). Signed by 32 members.

That this House notes the gradual decline in deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning in the UK; recognises that there must be no reduction in efforts to reduce fatalities, injuries and long-term illness caused by exposure to carbon monoxide;reminds holidaymakers travelling to Europe and beyond, that the number of recorded deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning overseas is significantly higher than in the UK; and therefore urges travellers to carry an inexpensive, portable carbon monoxide detector with them on their holidays.
