POST OFFICES IN NORTHERN IRELAND
Early day motion 1912, tabled 14 June 2011 by Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick (Social Democratic and Labour Party). Signed by 16 members.
That this House notes the importance of the vital community service provided by post offices in Northern Ireland; and further notes that they hold communities together, allowing customers access to products and services in their own community and offering focal points for face-to-face interaction, offering a useful service for older people to claim their pensions and counter money services for customers to organise bills and manage their finances, thereby providing a unique asset that must be sustained and developed for the benefit of local communities.
