NATIONAL AUTISM SOCIETY AND CHANGES TO DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE

Early day motion 1688, tabled 31 March 2011 by Alan Meale (Labour). Signed by 16 members.

That this House is aware of the Government's decision to reduce by at least 1 billion the annual spend on disability living allowancebenefits;notes the concerns of the National Autism Society's campaign, Who Benefits, which warns that the proposed changes, in particularthe move towards face-to-face assessments, will unfairly penalise people with autism who because of their disabilities will likely be disproportionately affected by the mechanism chosen to determine their entitlement.
