REMOVAL OF DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE MOBILITY COMPONENT (No. 2)

Early day motion 1274, tabled 13 January 2011 by Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick (Social Democratic and Labour Party). Signed by 41 members.

That this House is opposed to the proposal to remove the mobility component from Disability Living Allowance from those residing in care homes; believes that the provision of assistance should be dependent upon need rather than place of residence; and is concerned that the removal of the mobility component from those residing in care homes threatens the dignity and freedom of the most vulnerable in society.
