Early day motion 1106, tabled 30 November 2010 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 30 members.

That this House congratulates medical scientists led by Professor Andrew Tobin at the University of Leicester on their discovery of a new mechanism for controlling blood sugar levels; notes that the research identifies a way in which our body controls the level of sugar in blood following a meal; further notes that this discovery has important implications for the 2.8 million diabetes sufferers in the UK; and calls on the Government to continue to fund ground-breaking research in Britain's universities and to work with diabetes charities and health professionals to raise awareness and prevent further increases in the number of sufferers.
