SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Early day motion 731, tabled 14 September 2010 by Robert Halfon (Conservative). Signed by 40 members.

That this House recognises that becoming a fully independent adult doesn't happen overnight and that young people need help as they make the transition from childhood to adulthood; believes that the years from 16 to 25 could be formally recognised as a specific life stage and that further work is required to see if services could support young people across this transition rather than stop at arbitrary ages; further believes that central and local government should provide leadership to ensure the better co-ordination of services at a local level for these young people; and supports Catch22's Ready or Not campaign calling for such change.

Signatures by party: Labour 22, Liberal Democrat 8, Conservative 3, DUP 3, Social Democratic and Labour Party 2, Green 1, Plaid Cymru 1.
