ENTRY CLEARANCE AND APPEALS

Early day motion 495, tabled 14 July 2010 by Peter Bottomley (Conservative). Signed by 13 members.

That this House believes that in particular cases, such as the request for a family visit by the overseas mother of a woman in Britain who had a complex premature birth of asecond child, and whose husband works long hours at moderate pay, a delay of over 10 weeks before there is further information on the appeal against the refusal of a visa is inappropriate; and further believes it to be rightfor entry clearance to be granted without delay in such a case.

Signatures by party: Labour 5, Liberal Democrat 3, Conservative 2, Social Democratic and Labour Party 2, Green 1.
