US ADMINISTRATION AND BP

Early day motion 199, tabled 10 June 2010 by Lord Watson of Wyre Forest (Labour). Signed by 10 members.

That this House notes with concern reports that the US administration is seeking to stop dividend payments to shareholders of BP amid anger over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill; further notes the huge exposure of UK pension funds to BP; believes that the company must honour its commitment to the people affected by the disaster; and further believes that the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs should intervene to raise their concerns with the UK's US allies.
