DE HAVILLAND COMET C2 AT RAF LYNEHAM

Early day motion 1555, tabled 1 June 2009 by Bob Spink (Independent). Signed by 7 members.

That this House is deeply concerned by the proposal to scrap the De Havilland Comet C2 Sagittarius, currently displayed at the gate of RAF Lyneham; appreciates the cost of restoring a large airframe but notes the significance of the Comet C2 Sagittarius as probably the last complete short fuselage Comet in the world; and calls on the Government to do all it can to protect this important part of the nation's history by transferring ownership of the aircraft to the RAF museum.
