RESTRUCTURING OF THE LEGAL SERVICES COMMISSION

Early day motion 1420, tabled 5 May 2009 by Alan Meale (Labour). Signed by 18 members.

That this House believes that current proposals for the restructuring of the Legal Services Commission (LSC) would, if introduced, affect most of the LSC's offices in England and Wales; and further believes that, given the current economic crisis, the demand for such services will inevitably increase and that it would be both stupid and irresponsible to proceed along such a path especially as the data connected with the proposals was gathered and then developed prior to the present perilous state of the economy.
