FOSTER REVIEW OF THE CAPITAL PROGRAMME IN FURTHER EDUCATION

Early day motion 1340, tabled 24 April 2009 by Lord Willetts (Conservative). Signed by 16 members.

That this House notes the publication of Sir Andrew Foster's Review of the Capital Programme in Further Education; is concerned that the Review found that the crisis was predictable and probably avoidable, with warnings about the programme first expressed in February 2008; further notes that 79 colleges are awaiting approval in detail and 65 colleges are awaiting approval in principal for their applications for capital funding, worth a total of £5.7 billion; and calls on the Government urgently to set priority criteria for the future of the capital programme as recommended in Sir Andrew Foster's report.
