CLOSURE OF DHL AINTREE

Early day motion 404, tabled 12 January 2009 by George Howarth (Labour). Signed by 15 members.

That this House notes with grave concern the proposed closure of DHL in Aintree with a loss of 39 direct employees and an additional 13 or more self-employed drivers; expresses concern that the management has not given any convincing reason as to why it is necessary to move the depot from Aintree; and calls on DHL to engage seriously with the workforce and their trade union with a view to exploring the possibility of keeping the Aintree site open.
