TRANSITION TOWN LAMPETER

Early day motion 183, tabled 8 December 2008 by Mark Williams (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 12 members.

That this House congratulates the work of the Transition Town movement in Lampeter, which seeks ways to respond to the challenges of peak oil and climate change; welcomes Lampeter's official establishment as a Transition Town in April 2008 after receiving widespread support from local residents, public bodies and businesses; believes that a grassroots approach to tackling the serious environmental issues that will affect everyone now and in the future is vital to ensure both local and global action; and wishes Lampeter well as a key part of the burgeoning Transition Town movement.
