PROPOSED CLOSURE OF TETLEY BREWERY, LEEDS

Early day motion 2514, tabled 17 November 2008 by Colin Burgon (Labour). Signed by 33 members.

That this House condemns the decision by Carlsberg Tetley to close the historic Tetley Brewery in Leeds that employs 170 staff; welcomes the Yorkshire Evening Post's campaign to persuade Carlsberg to keep Tetley's as a locally brewed brand; and calls on everyone who wishes to retain a beer that has been brewed in the city since 1822 to back the campaign.

Signatures by party: Labour 29, Liberal Democrat 3, Scottish National Party 1.
