BBC DRAMA VILLAGE IN BIRMINGHAM

Early day motion 2384, tabled 30 October 2008 by Lynne Jones (Labour). Signed by 12 members.

That this House welcomes the announcement that Doctors, the BBC's popular daytime drama, is to stay in Birmingham; fully supports the decisions of the BBC's Network Supply Review, which confirmed that more investment is to be made in Birmingham and that the centre's current drama remit will be expanded; and hopes this heralds a new commitment to television production in the West Midlands and that the future of the BBC Drama Village at the University of Birmingham is now secure.

Signatures by party: Labour 8, Liberal Democrat 2, Conservative 1, DUP 1.
