FILM AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Early day motion 2357, tabled 28 October 2008 by Janet Anderson (Labour). Signed by 21 members.

That this House welcomes the release of the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace; wishes to congratulate those working in the UK film industry for their involvement in this and other internationally-acclaimed productions; notes that such films are particularly vulnerable to theft through illegal recording in cinema auditoria; and calls on the Government to introduce as a matter of urgency legislation specifically to make such activities a criminal offence.
