BANKS AND SMALL BUSINESSES
Early day motion 2256, tabled 15 October 2008 by Baroness Burt of Solihull (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 52 members.
That this House deplores the actions of some banks in withdrawing crucial credit lines from small businesses despite having been bailed out themselves by taxpayers; and calls on the Government to ensure, as a condition of receiving help, that the banks in turn help their customers, and especially small businesses which are the lifeblood of the economy.
