CONTAMINATED GE LIGHTING FACTORY SITE

Early day motion 1961, tabled 7 July 2008 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 10 members.

That this House welcomes the recent Environment Agency report calling for an investigation of the GE Lighting site in Leicester; recognises that land used by factories is at risk of contamination; further recognises that such land may be required for housing; further notes that Leicestershire is currently facing a housing shortage; and calls on the Government to encourage a full investigation of the site and to recognise that the land should be allocated for housing.
