TANKER DRIVERS' DISPUTE

Early day motion 1761, tabled 11 June 2008 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 10 members.

That this House regrets that Government sources this week have threatened the use of emergency powers against striking tanker drivers, who are members of Unite, including through the drafting-in of soldiers to drive tankers for oil companies; and believes that this inflammatory threat sets back the process of achieving a negotiated settlement in this dispute.

Signatures by party: Labour 9, Conservative 1.
