KNIFE CRIME

Early day motion 1645, tabled 2 June 2008 by Lee Scott (Conservative). Signed by 35 members.

That this House notes with very great concern the growing numbers of young people carrying knives and the increase in the number of stabbing victims; commends Merseyside Police's zero tolerance of knife possession; calls on the courts to end lenient sentences for knife crime; and believes that the Government should take urgent action to increase prison capacity.
