NEW BUILD COUNCIL HOUSES IN SCOTLAND
Early day motion 1472, tabled 1 May 2008 by Angus MacNeil (Scottish National Party). Signed by 13 members.
That this House recognises that the number of council houses built in Scotland since devolution has been negligible; supports the Scottish Government's decision to freeze the right to buy; welcomes the announcement by the Scottish Government that it will invest £25 million to build new council houses over the next three years; and supports the Scottish Government's ambition to build 35,000 council houses every year until 2015.
