CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM MORALE

Early day motion 1295, tabled 1 April 2008 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 19 members.

That this House believes that cuts to the police force, Prison Service, probation service, Crown Prosecution Service and the courts are severely affecting the ability of those services to carry out their statutory functions; further believes that pay restraint is undermining morale and will lead to difficulties of recruitment and retention for all the agencies of the criminal justice system; and urges the Government to urgently review the adequacy of the funding of those services.
