ABOLITION OF THE GRADUATE ENDOWMENT FEE IN SCOTLAND

Early day motion 1085, tabled 3 March 2008 by Angus MacNeil (Scottish National Party). Signed by 6 members.

That this House welcomes the abolition of the graduate endowment fee and the restoration of free education in Scotland by the SNP Scottish Government; expresses relief that Labour's right-wing alliance with the Conservatives in Scotland, which attempted to keep this back-end tuition fee, failed; endorses the Scottish Government's view that education should be based on ability to learn and not the ability to pay; and believes that the Westminster Government should follow the Scottish Government's example.

Signatures by party: Scottish National Party 6.
