OPENING OF THE STEPHEN LAWRENCE CENTRE

Early day motion 957, tabled 19 February 2008 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 57 members.

That this House welcomes the opening of the Stephen Lawrence Centre in Deptford which aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in architecture; believes that it is a suitable memorial; considers that the centre will go a long way to build young people's self-esteem; further believes that it will enable many to gain the skills and training they need to become successful architects; and calls upon the Government to ensure that more such centres will be built.
